Meanwhile, Dota 2 matches can average around 50 minutes per match. A huge complaint among the Dota 2 community is the inability to concede a match. However, comebacks are much more common in these matches . Many of the game's most amazing turnarounds could never have happened if Valve had allowed the implementation of a surrender opt
Now, online multiplayer games are the norm. Even series that feature single-player campaigns, like the Call of Duty , Battlefield , and Gears of War franchises, are better known for their multiplayer. Games that once featured only single-player stories, such the Uncharted and Assassin's Creed series, have implemented online multiplayer in sequels. And although more games are incorporating multiplayer elements, few allow for local multiplayer; the focus is almost entirely on virtual shared gaming experien
AHIII: I haven't really put too much thought into which games to cast. I am aware that if I do want to pursue casting professionally, I'll probably have to look at other games. There hasn't been anything static like wanting to do BlizzCon; I would love to do BlizzCon but it's not like once I do that, my dream is complete. I just want to continue to explore it and see where it goes. Just being here in this world and being myself, that is the dream to
The queen of the "carry everyone else" complex, Riven. With countless 1 vs 5 montages on YouTube, Riven spits on the concept of team games. While she remains unbalanced (why she has the only shield in the game that scales with attack damage is a mystery to everyone), she does still require a mechanical mastery and quick reflexes. That fact is probably what makes her so detrimental to League of Legends as an overall game. Many pro-players and streamers have mastered those mechanics and pull off amazing individual feats. This means that there are exponentially more players, after having watched the pros, who believe they are just as capable to replicate it. The game already has a toxic community from players’ inability to get along. You throw in an outlet for selfish players and the problem is only made wo
"While the lack of roster stability and major focal points during the year had its advantages, it had eventually come at the cost of fan engagement and competitive stability for the players," Valve said in a statem
2K's multiplayer online-only Evolve is under fire for this very reason. The game already has several DLCs and a deluxe edition available on top of its $60 price tag. Some critics claim this is equivalent to Evolve being a free-to-play MOBA game Champions Guide with microtransactions. Others, who support Evolve 's unique 4v1 approach to multiplayer and gorgeous graphics, hope that paying more money upfront will benefit and support future work. Adding more opportunities for players to pay more for games—through DLC and custom items—is a strategy that has earned developers more money thus far, so it's unlikely to end anytime s
Both games are rife with a myriad of ways of griefing teammates, and it is done so regularly. The two games do attempt to dampen the spread of remarks that are too homophobic or racist (with penalties like being placed into lower priority queue). When thoroughly miffed, many players resort to 'feeding,' the act of dying to the enemy team on purpose to give them gold. To win games, some players even resort to 'swatting,' the act of making up a violent crime in order to goad a SWAT team to the streamer's h
"I think it’s something that I’ve always been interested in, but it wasn’t until I got into college and met some people doing it that I actually took the plunge. I’m not even sure if I can classify my first "outing" as a cosplay, I threw some stuff together and did a Lady Vader back in 2012. I had fun though, and got a good look at what other people were producing, asked a lot of questions, and thought 'yeah, I really need to do this right
"This was a project full of firsts for me. It’s been incredibly frustrating and educational trying to finally accomplish this cosplay. This was my first time making armor with Worbla, and I only have one burn scar… so far! In fact, this was my first time using automotive primer, Bondo, silicone molds, resin casts, and a whole lot of other stuff. I’m a kinetic learner, so the only way I really get a handle on stuff is by getting my hands on it and going for it. I messed up a lot, but I learned a lot. You really just have to take every little thing in stride. I had been pushing to try and get this cosplay ready for a specific convention, and nearly drove myself mad trying to do it. Instead, I’ve learned now to just sit back and enjoy the experience. It’ll be done when it’s done, and I’ll be proud of the finished produ
AHIII: Growing up, I was a very quiet, introverted person; by nature, I am. I wanted to try to get past that because it wasn't leading to the kind of happiness in life that I wanted. I decided to try to use casting as an avenue to find a more honest expression of myself. My goal in casting is to be myself, crack myself up, and have fun. So, if I make a joke that no one else laughs at but I think is hilarious and I'm having a good time, I went into it knowing I can fit into it. People can not like my talents but it would be okay. I would be fine with my own performance because I was mys
